The story behind the game

Made by one person.
Built with heart.

Chef's Corner is a solo indie project — no studio, no team, just one developer with a vision and a lot of coffee.

The origin story
A game born from
wanting something different.

Chef's Corner started as a personal project — I was burnt out from high-pressure games and just wanted something calm, satisfying, and mine. I wanted a cooking game that didn't scream at you for being a second too slow.

So I built one. I started with a tiny kitchen, a handful of recipes, and the simple idea that progress should always feel good — never grindy, never punishing. Just the quiet pleasure of watching something grow.

Every asset, every line of code, every recipe name was written by one person — me. It's a slow process, but it means every detail has been thought about and cared for. This isn't a game made by a committee. It's a game made by someone who just really wanted to play it.

I hope Chef's Corner becomes your go-to game after a long day — something warm to come back to, something that never demands too much, and something that always gives you a little more than you expected.

The journey
How we got here.
💡
Early 2025
The idea. Burnt out from stressful games, I began sketching a cozy kitchen experience focused on flow, comfort, and small satisfying moments.
🛠️
Mid 2025
First prototype. One counter, one stove, and a few simple recipes. Rough, but the core loop already felt right.
🎨
Late 2025
Art direction locked. A warm, soft visual identity started to take shape — clean, calm, and distinctly cozy.
🔥
2025 — Now
Active development. Expanding the kitchen, refining progression, and adding more handcrafted recipes while preparing the game for public release.
Soon™
Steam release. Final polish, full sound design, controller support, and sharing the finished experience with the community.
